Strengthening Ministry Partnerships in Peru: A Journey of Connection and Growth
Shea Rouser recently traveled to Peru on a personally financed trip, where he made the most of his time
by not only visiting his wife during her port call but also furthering Joshua Nations’ ministry efforts in the
region. With the help of the Spanish-speaking team, including Donato and Karine Barrientos, Shea
embarked on a mission to strengthen existing relationships and forge new partnerships in Peru, setting the
stage for expanded ministry work in the country.
Together with Karine, Shea held key meetings with local leaders, including current Joshua Nations contacts
and new ministry partners. Karine, who accompanied Shea to observe and learn, quickly took on a
leadership role herself. As a result of the trip, Karine is now well-equipped to lead new contacts and
conduct startup kit trainings. She’s even been invited to remain in Peru to continue building on the
foundation laid during this visit.
During their time in Peru, Shea and Karine connected with two current leaders, engaged eight new ministry
contacts, and conducted two startup kit trainings via Zoom following the trip. Additionally, they delivered a
ministry presentation to the team at MOVIDA, an influential Christian organization that equips young
leaders in Latin America for global missions.
One of the most inspiring moments of the trip came when they met with two young women who have been
working to reach a frontier people group in the Peruvian Amazon. These women expressed their
excitement about taking Joshua Nations’ training materials to their remote region, where they plan to raise
up new Christian leaders within their community. Their commitment and passion for reaching the
unreached is a powerful testament to how Joshua Nations’ curriculum is equipping and empowering
leaders around the world.
The photos from the trip capture the heart of the mission: meetings with Neary and Raul, the current
leadership in Peru; moments with Katherine and her team from the Peruvian Amazon; and meaningful
connections made with MOVIDA’s leadership in Lima. Each interaction, every new connection, represents a
step toward expanding the reach of Joshua Nations and bringing the message of Christ to even more
communities.
This trip was not only a strategic success but also a reminder of the importance of personal relationships in
ministry. Through building these connections, Shea and the team have laid the groundwork for future
growth in Peru, with new partnerships ready to take Joshua Nations’ mission even further.
God is clearly opening doors in Peru, and we are excited to see how these new relationships and training
initiatives will bear fruit in the months and years to come. The work being done now will impact the
Kingdom for generations, and we are grateful to be part of this incredible mission.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to follow how Joshua Nations is empowering leaders and
transforming lives across Peru and beyond!
