Joshua Nations in Sri Lanka: Impacting Generations
Karine Barrientos de Resende recently returned from an inspiring trip to Sri Lanka, where she and her team
made a lasting impact on both leaders and youth across the country. The team participated in two Pastors
and Leaders Conferences in Colombo and Kandy, focusing on the importance of reaching the next
generation for Christ. Karine emphasized how crucial it is to engage the younger generation, ensuring that
the Christian legacy continues in the rapidly changing world.
In a significant milestone, Joshua Nations introduced its first-year curriculum in the Sinhala and Tamil
languages, making the material accessible to more people in their native tongues. Karine also had the
privilege of speaking at a Women of Valor Conference, where she was moved by the strong sense of
sisterhood and the desire of the women to deepen their understanding of God.
One of the highlights was a Youth Rally, where Karine and Judah Holland spoke to a group of young people,
some as young as 10-12 years old. Karine was encouraged by the youth’s hunger for Christ and their
determination to find truth in a world filled with distractions.
Throughout the trip, Karine encountered powerful testimonies, including two team members from the Sri
Lankan BTC who shared how their understanding of church and God was transformed through the Joshua
Nations curriculum.
The trip also included three Sunday church services and a range of events, all leaving a lasting impression
on the local communities. This journey serves as a reminder of the powerful ways God is using Joshua
Nations to equip leaders, inspire women, and guide the next generation towards Christ
