From Prisoner to Pastor: A Testimony of Transformation Through Joshua Nations

In one of the most inspiring stories to emerge from our Joshua Nations Bible Training programs, we celebrate the powerful transformation of a former prisoner whose life was forever changed behind bars. While serving his sentence, he encountered the life-changing message of the Gospel through a Joshua Nations Bible Training Center (BTC) inside the prison. It was there that he began to grow in the knowledge of the Word and his identity in Christ.

Upon his release, this man did not return to his old life. Instead, he carried the fire of the Gospel back to his village, determined to share the same hope and truth that had set him free. With passion and purpose, he launched a BTC in his community—bringing the Word of God to others hungry for truth and transformation. The meetings are now drawing people from nearby areas, creating a beacon of hope and revival in what was once a forgotten village.

This powerful story is the fruit of faithful leadership under Andrew Mwaba, our National Leader in Zambia. Andrew’s dedication to training leaders, planting BTCs, and reaching the unreached continues to produce a lasting impact—especially among those society often forgets.

A Vehicle Fit for the Mission

Supporting leaders like Andrew across the continent is John Wandera, our Africa Director. Based in Uganda, John provides oversight and direction to nearly 2,000 active Bible Training Centers throughout Africa. His leadership is essential to the multiplication of discipleship movements in remote villages, urban centers, and even prison walls.

But right now, John is in urgent need of a reliable vehicle. His previous vehicle, damaged and aging, is no longer dependable for the intense travel required of his role. That’s why Joshua Nations and our global family are working together to provide John with a Toyota Land Cruiser—a vehicle tough enough for Africa’s terrain and essential to the mission he carries.

We’re excited to share that much of the funding has already come in, but we still need to raise $26,000 to complete this vital purchase.
