Joshua Nations Finish The Great Commission

What do 39 people from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Vietnam, Philippines, and the USA have in common? A call from the Lord to go above and beyond in the task of the Great Commission for reaching all tribes, tongues, and people in Asia! Last week, this group of incredible men and women gathered in Sri Lanka for the second Joshua Nations Asia Summit. This event was truly remarkable and will likely be remembered in eternity as a launching pad for disciple-making movements.

Last year, Jason and Anna Holland, along with James Chacko, hosted the first-ever Asia Summit for Joshua Nations. While our 2025 venue was a bit rudimentary, the meeting was a primer for what was to come. Before going “all-in” we wanted to test the waters with a smaller group and determine what level of traction we had in Asia before a larger launch. Our 2025 Summit definitely gave us that confidence!

With a few generous partners, we were able to host the 2026 Summit in a fantastic manner. For five full days, husbands and wives from nine nations experienced an event like never before! Our partners made it possible for the delegates to attend as couples, with all expenses paid. We felt strongly that it was important for both the husband and wife to participate, as Joshua Nations’ culture focuses on equipping the whole family. Each couple expressed tremendous gratitude for the opportunity to attend, learn, grow and be refreshed together. For many, this was their first time attending any such event together and some had never had so many days of refreshing with their spouse.

We focused on several themes throughout the week. All sessions were designed to be interactive instead of a “talking head” lecture. Jason Holland and James Chacko facilitated sessions on strategy, church planting, leadership succession and transition, and mentoring the next generation. James and Usha Chacko led an incredible session on leading ministry as a couple – with principles on how to have a healthy marriage while leading in ministry. Many of the couples requested that Joshua Nations offer more training and resources, such as a book or manual, that addresses such critical topics.

Anna Holland, Usha Chacko, and Kaylah Michel (Sri Lanka), led special workshops focused on the Women of Valor ministry activities within Joshua Nations. Our goal is to empower women to fulfill their God-given call in the role God has placed them in. The women that came are powerful, competent, and effective in ministry; some have been involved in public – others have been behind-the-scenes stalwarts of support. The atmosphere of love, encouragement, and equipping was capped off with a time of communion and prayer. As a result of the WOV workshops, we have decided to create a contextualized 12-lesson resource for women based on our Core Foundations resource. We are excited to make this material specifically for women, as a discipleship primer and a connector to our Bible Training Centers.

One final key takeaway that really encouraged our team – almost every delegate was keen on the idea of self-sustaining business projects to fund Joshua Nations ministry activities and their families’ needs. With the shifting global political climate, the resourcing of ministry activities from the West is becoming more challenging. In some nations, it is illegal to receive money from Christian organizations. Understanding these realities was a key catalyst for conversations about how to fund ministry if Western funds become totally blocked. Many incredible ideas for self-sustaining businesses were presented and discussed among the group. We will be exploring the best ideas for viability and making sure they are planned well for proper execution.

I could write many pages of incredible highlights, but space and printing costs will not allow. Please watch our e-newsletter and social media accounts for videos, photos, testimonies, and interviews from the 2026 Asia Summit.

Thank you for your ongoing prayer for Joshua Nations and all international ministry activities.
