Living In The Promise
The Hebrews writer gives us a great Promise in chapter 4 where he talks about entering the rest of the Lord. It is for the believers in Jesus (1:1-3). In verse 9 he says, “there remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For He who has entered his rest ceases from his works as God did from His.”
Sabbath is not a day but a person. Believers keep the Sabbath, which is the Lord, as their resting place. We live, operate and do all we do not from man dictated works but from the posture and promise of rest. Stop your religious busyness, struggling and sweating with self-defeating behaviors and rest in the one who said it so eloquently and masterfully, “It is finished.” Rest in His performance and not yours. So relax, refresh, renew, retool, re-invent and rest in Him. “The Pace for the Race is Rest.” This is the secret for making the long haul!!!
